2024

Here at The Sportsman Pub, we are making some changes to the way we do things in 2024!

During the last few years, the hospitality sector has seen it’s fair share of challenges, which we feel are still a factor going forward. With this, we have had to adapt to the current economic situation in order to continue trading.

One change is our menu; if you have had a look online, you will notice that it is smaller than usual, however we do believe that we are still offering our classics that people come back and enjoy time after time. Alongside this menu, we will offer a daily ‘plat du jour’, to keep our menu fresh & current, whilst using local produce and suppliers.

Our opening hours are differing slightly, there will be some evenings in the quieter months that we will close earlier than stated so please bear with us as we negotiate this new way of operating and check the website or social media for any updates.

Pods – two of our dining pods have been moved to their new pitch! Don’t worry, it isn’t far from where they were, just the other side of the pub near the car park. This means that our patio area is now back to having a few benches on, so you can come along and enjoy the sunshine (hopefully).

Come the spring & summer months, we will be starting to use other suppliers and out source the food for two evenings a week – Wednesday & Thursday evening. On Wednesday, we have the fantastic SOPI Pizza, SOPI is a mobile pizzeria serving freshly made, delicious wood-fired Neapolitan pizza cooked to order. Thursday evening, we will be joined by the fantastic Cairo Van! serving up delicious flavours of Egypt & North African food. We will be open for drinks service, so you can dine inside (or out weather permitting) and enjoy our drinks and some delicious food. Do follow our social media pages to keep up to date with who is joining us.

Matt & Olivia want to take this opportunity to thank all of our customers who continue to join us and support us. We also want to thank our wonderful staff who over the years have worked so hard and supported us throughout all the ups and downs. Moving forward, we believe that by making these adjustments, it will allow us to sustain trade and continue to provide the standard of service, food & experience that our customers enjoy time and time again. We hope that the changes made are received positively & we want to thank you in advanced for your understanding and patience with us over the next few months.
