Welcome to The Sportsman Pub ~Goddards Green

Goddards Green, in the heart of West Sussex, close to Hassocks, Hurstpierpoint and Burgess Hill, boasts the Sportsman public house, home of great cuisine and Casque Mark Ales. Formerly, two pubs, the Magpie and the Sportsman, the buildings were knocked through into one. This establishment dates from about 1800, when it was recorded as a ‘beer house’.

Families and their children are most welcome as too are walkers and cyclists. Why not surf the internet on your smartphone using our free wifi to find the next part of your route! We can also cater for bespoke wedding parties, wakes, children's parties and other private functions including company & private Christmas Parties (see Buffet Menus, in the "Our Food Menu" above)

We are proud to have been awarded the Cask Marque and serve a range of local ales including Harvey’s of Lewes and Dark Star brewed in Partridge Green. Periodically we will source guest ales from other local breweries. The Trading Standards have vetted the pub and given us the "Buy With Confidence" award.

We are within walking distance of the All England Jump Course at Hickstead, The Hickstead Hotel and the Premier Inns at Hickstead and Burgess Hill, so please pop and visit us.
